What Sells on eBay August 2016

  1. Tony, A very enjoyable video, as always ! Deirdre, You have a beautiful smile, and it seems like you are getting more comfortable with these videos, and your personality is starting to come out even more, which is very fun to watch.

I was on vacation most of last week, and extended my handling time to keep the sales from totally drying up. And it turned out to be my best week of the month, which was a huge surprise. I am still way behind overall for August, but at least I feel encouraged by the recent momentum.

My favorite and most exciting sale was 6 of my Alaska slides. The buyer picked 3 sets of scenery that were made up of 2 complimentary slides. One set had sunsets, another was mountains and the third set was water from glaciers. When I saw the way he paired them up, I immediately thought how serene they might look in a dentist's office. I had the slides on sale for $15.00 each, and I was thrilled when the first one sold, and before I knew it, the second cha-Ching happened; and then it just kept cha-changing - six total. I have never had a buyer purchase 6 items in a row like that, and it was very exciting! A quick way to make $90, and I was so thrilled to see my slides selling, since these were an experiment with non-clothing items. Way too fun!

I liked seeing your t-shirt examples, and they were all very cool. You say you don't live in an area where you find great items, but I thought those were great, and I am sure you sell them very fast, especially the Stihl ones. I just bought a truckers hat that has a Boilermakers union on it, and my husband thought I was crazy to buy it, but I told him that a hipster in Brooklyn will love it; he's not convinced - ha ha!!

Thanks for sharing a slice of your ebay life with us - it was very entertaining, and the cats are adorable.

    1. Thanks Pat and I am sorry for the late response, it's been hectic around here lately. Congrats on the slides ! that is very cool. We have not ever found any slides but that really sound like it would be fun to get into. Take care !

    2. Tony, I definitely hope your hectic times is due to the fact that you have been selling a whole lot of items! That would be great!!

    3. I wish but the truth is that it has been a snails pace on sales. Our hectic problems lie in a constant reorganization of our listing process. Hopefully we have that worked out now.

    4. Tony, My ebay store has been awfully slow, also; and I keep thinking that it will pick up soon. But it has been slow since July, for me. I'm very disappointed because I had a decent year going, up until the summer. I just have a gut feeling that it's more than the summer slowdown at work here; but I guess we will know more at some point in the future. But in the meantime, we all need some sales.

I am curious about your listing process changes, because I am playing around with a few new ideas, also. I definitely need to speed up my listing process, as I imagine most sellers do. Any tips you share are very welcome.

Thanks for your kind comment about my slide sales - those are fun to list, and easy to store and ship. Two weeks ago, I found some vintage slides on Craigslist, and I am starting to sort through those. It takes time to process slides up to the point of listing. But this set is very well labelled, so I hope that makes everything a lot faster. Time will tell. In the meantime, I keep hoping that things start improving for all of us!

  2. Hi guys, love your videos. My husband and I are full time Ebay since June. Something we do well with that you might want to start looking for is vintage (80's - 90's) women's Levi's. We sell those regularly for 39.95-42.95 plus shipping. They will be all cotton, high waisted (Mom Jeans) and made in USA or Mexico.

Thanks for sharing. Hope your sales (and ours;-) pick up soon!
